Traditional folk music reinterpreted
The sisters Evelyn and Kristina Brunner have been making music together since childhood. Starting from the musical foundations they received from their father in the family band, they have continuously developed traditional Swiss folk music. At your event, Evelyn and Kristina Brunner perform with Schwyzerörgeli, cello and double bass and play their very own sound inspired by a wide variety of styles, which nevertheless never loses touch with traditional folk music.
The musicians
After graduating from high school, Kristina Brunner studied cello with a focus on folk music (bachelor's degree) and schwyzerörgeli with Markus Flückiger (master's degree) at the Lucerne University of Music. Since 2019 she teaches Schwyzerörgeli at the music schools of the Gürbetal region and the city of Lucerne. In addition, she maintains an active concert schedule, especially in duo with Evelyn Brunner and Albin Brun.
After graduating from high school, Evelyn Brunner studied music and movement pedagogy at the Lucerne Academy of Music. In addition to a broad pedagogical education, she received lessons there in playing the double bass and the Schwyzerörgeli. Evelyn Brunner teaches Schwyzerörgeli at music schools in Thun and Bern, leads folk music courses and is active in various projects and bands in the field of folk music.
