Mood like in the southern states
The band TAKE THE 55 brings the music from the southern states of the USA directly to your party. With a successful mixture of earthy soul, rumba, blues, cajun, country blues and rock'n'roll, they will raise the mood and make the dance floor shake. The huge repertoire includes well-known and less known songs. Thanks to the biographical connections of the band members to the USA you can look forward to an authentic performance. And it can also be gentle and quiet. Book a performance made to measure.
The band and their music
TAKE THE 55 is a motley crew with musicians from the USA, France and Switzerland, all with international experience. The "55" in the name means the highway from Chicago to New Orleans. There they created all rhythms and styles from Blues to Jazz to Swamp-Pop, before they conquered the USA and the whole world. The band not only masters these styles, but also conveys the mentality of New Orleans: earthy, fresh and full of energy.
On request with Elvis songs
Optionally, the band performs with singer Steven Day, whose repertoire includes more than 70 Elvis songs, including many gospels. The Basel native is not an Elvis imitator, but presents the songs of the "King of Rock'n'Roll" on an international level.
